Back to Life. Back to Reality.

August 28, 2015 Melissa Kitchen

As I transition from my summer break back to my position as a school counselor, I know that this summer has changed me profoundly and that I will never be the same.  This growth has come from surrounding myself with like minded people and following a passion that lead to the creation of Whole Woman, Whole You.

Going back to work full time can be a little scary.  I know you've been there.  Vacation allows you to truly create your environment and schedule.  You can quiet the noise enough to hear your inner voice.  You decide what to do and when to do it.  In this space you take some time to step off the merry go round.  And if you're lucky, you find another piece of yourself.

That was my summer and it was beautiful!  So now it's the end of August and instead of fearing the transition "back to reality"  I am deciding to go back and change my reality.  I have control.  I will take quiet time to hear my inner voice.  I will be more purposeful when I decide what I  will do and when I will do it.  I will jump off the merry go round of the busyness of life and create my life by design.

Buddha said, "What you think you become.  What you feel you attract.  What you imagine you create."  This will be my guide.  I am going to be very protective of what I think, feel and imagine as I go back to my "regular" life.  This will be my guide as I go through the day to day.  Will there be challenges? You can bet on it, but I am so ready to take control of my life, not just for the summer, but for all time.

I hope you join me on my journey, I will be sharing my lessons on this blog.  Together we will "Rebuild our resilience and regain our brilliance!"
